In Cambuí since 2009
The story
Grainne’s opened its doors in 2009 and brought to Campinas the atmosphere of genuine Irish pubs: cosy lighting, classic architecture, a stage behind the bar and rustic rooms that recall the depths of a ship.
The idea was born when the owners visited Europe’s most famous pubs. It worked so well that, in early 2011, the pub gained a new space with an outdoor deck, a gourmet room, a pool table and a climate-controlled wine cellar.
The origin of the name
Gráinne Mhaol, known as Grace O’Malley, was the pirate queen of Ireland. In the 16th century she commanded ships and men on the country’s west coast and went down in history as a symbol of courage and freedom.
The pub is named after her, and that’s why everyone here is a sailor.
Music
Music is the pub’s finishing touch: international rock bands live from Wednesday to Sunday, blues classics on Tuesdays and more intimate acoustic sets with voice and guitar.
Sports
Every week the pub shows matches from the main football leagues, from Brazil and around the world, as well as basketball, American football, fights and tennis.
